Koukyouji Temple|Jodo Shu Buddhist Temple in Hiroshima
Koukyouji is a Jodo Shu Buddhist temple with a history of approximately 470 years.
The temple was reduced to ashes by the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, and the present main hall
was rebuilt after the war through the efforts of the head priest and the temple community of the time.
The temple grounds include the Yakushido Hall, the Mizuko Kannon, the Six Jizo statues,
a cemetery, and a tranquil garden that changes beautifully with the seasons.
Visitors of all backgrounds are warmly welcome.
